2020 Cancellation Frequently Asked Questions

New Hope Network misses gathering with the natural & organic products community, and we are sad to announce that we will need to wait until 2021 for us all to be together in person again due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 crisis on events and travel. While we were excited to welcome the community to Philadelphia Sept. 23-26 for Natural Products Expo East and have spent the last three months creating detailed health and safety plans for the event, we have made the difficult decision to cancel.

Our focus now is to take care of you and make the Expo East cancellation process as easy as possible. We will be refunding all paid Expo East 2020 badges and education registrations. Our New Hope sales account managers will work with each exhibitor and sponsor on a credit or refund plan.

Exhibitor Questions

We are committed to providing the highest level of flexibility and efficiency as we work through the details of issuing credits or refunds for your exhibit space. All exhibitors will have the opportunity to indicate their preference for a credit or a refund through a direct conversation with your sales account manager. In the coming weeks, your New Hope account manager will follow up directly to explore the options related to your Expo East booth investment. The cancellation of Expo West and now Expo East has impacted all our businesses in significant ways.  We are particularly excited to discuss with you how our new Spark Change initiative will help fill the product discovery, education and networking voids that have resulted from the cancellation of our events. Yes, with this cancellation, New Hope will refund all paid badges and education registrations for the Expo East 2020 event. We will begin processing refunds in the next few weeks and will share more specific details surrounding the date on which refunds will be completed through this FAQ page.

Expo East 2021 will continue as planned, and we are looking forward to welcoming the Natural Products community to Philadelphia September 22-25, 2021.  Your account manager will also be reaching out to schedule Expo East booth re-sign in the coming weeks.

With the cancellations of both Expo West and Expo East due to COVID-19, we know that many natural & organic product brands are missing the opportunity to connect directly with buyers to share their product innovation and the stories. To fill this void, New Hope has created a digital events and content series called Spark Change

Beginning in August, Spark Change will guide the natural & organic products community through a virtual journey of product discovery, education and connection. Brands and innovators will have the opportunity to get in front of retail buyers, consumer influencers, investors and others via digital storytelling and product sampling; and retailers and others will be able to easily navigate new innovation based on theme, trend and product category—and meet the people behind these offerings. 

To our exhibiting community, we are excited to discuss with you how Spark Change will help your company connect directly with retail buyers, influencers, investors and others who can help you build and grow your business in this challenging and fast-changing CPG environment.

The Natural Products Expo Connect platform is the official directory for Expo East and Expo West and is fast becoming an innovation discovery resource for the industry year-round. We encourage Expo East 2020 exhibitors to promote their products, tell their story, and showcase their latest announcements via Expo Connect.  This platform will be actively promoted to the entire Expo East community, including retail buyers, distributors, investors and more.

As an exhibitor, you should submit your products to the Expo Connect directory immediately. You can go to the onboarding portal here and submit your label flat and marketing image for all the products that you would have shown at your booth, and it’s completely free. Once submitted, your products will be assigned searchable attributes and will be displayed on the directory within 10 business days. Special note: If you submitted products for Expo West 2020, no action is required unless you have packaging updates or new products to add. All your EW20 products will be moved over to the Expo East 2020 show cycle automatically. Once viewable in the platform, you can request updates or changes by contacting us here.

All Expo East exhibitors also will be given the ability to load premium digital content on Expo Connect to help you tell your story, share your announcements and showcase your products. This includes videos, marketing materials, press releases, show specials and more – and it’s completely free!

Note: To maintain the compliance quality and integrity of your product presentation(s) in the Connect directory, our Standards Department will continue to review your product labeling and marketing submitted to the Connect directory as would be done at the events.

You can use Expo Connect to:

  • Discover companies and products being featured with noteworthy news and new product launches 
  • Explore all companies and products across many dimensions, including categories, ingredients, marketing claims or certifications 
  • Use keyword search to find brands and products that mention key words and phrases 
  • Create a favorites list for easy reference 
  • Request information from exhibitors from right inside the platform

Travel-Related Questions

No, on behalf of Expo East, our official hotel provider onPeak is cancelling all reservations that were booked thru the official Natural Products Expo East hotel block. No action will be needed on your part and you will receive a confirmation of your sleeping room reservation cancellation via email within the next 5-7 business day. The credit card provided at the time of booking will not be charged for any deposits. If you booked directly with a hotel or through a third-party agent, please reach out to them.
