Herb Walk Tour

Wednesday, September 11, 2019
1:00 - 5:00pm

The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), American Botanical Council (ABC), and American Herbal Pharmacopoeia (AHP) will host the annual HerbWalk at the late James (Jim) Duke's Green Farmacy Garden. Attendees will be guided by a faculty of renowned herbalists to learn about culinary and medicinal herbs and their traditional uses from a sanctuary of approximately 300 native and non-native species of plants that have been used traditionally and/or researched for medicinal purposes. Learning about the traditional and contemporary uses of herbs from experts in this idyllic setting will make this HerbWalk the highlight of your Expo East visit.

The Green Farmacy Garden is located in Fulton, Maryland. For over 60 years, the late retired USDA botanist, James A. Duke, Ph.D., and his wife, Peggy, collected medicinal plants, and in 1997, they transformed part of their pasture land into a teaching garden highlighting the plants that are featured in Jim's book, The Green Pharmacy. The Green Farmacy Garden is also a part of the United Plant Savers network of sanctuaries around the country, which strive to educate the public and replant native plants that have become at risk or endangered.

Cost: $60 (Not included with Super Pass Upgrade.)
