Emma Slattery is a senior Dietetics major at the University of Maryland, College Park. She has been the President of the Food and Nutrition Club for the past year and in this position continually advocates for nutrition education both on and off campus. She organized events for nutrition advocacy at American Diabetes Association walks as well as outreach through the Terp Farmers Market on campus. Additionally, she works with the University Health Center and Maryland Dining Services to increase nutrition education and to help students learn to incorporate a healthy diet into their lives. Emma enjoys writing for and running the blog Terps with Taste through her position as a Student Nutritionist with Dining Services. Most recently she was appointed lead student researcher for the implementation of the Get Fruved project on the University of Maryland campus.
Outside of the field of nutrition, Emma enjoys being on the executive board of the Club Field Hockey team at Maryland and participating in her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta.
